Brinks Gilson & Lione to host annual IP Developments webinar

DETROIT– Jan. 15, 2015 – Kelly Burris, managing partner of the Detroit office of Brinks Gilson & Lione, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the U.S., will serve as a speaker during the Brinks 2015 IP Developments webinar on Jan. 21. The firm hosts the complimentary, annual webinar to offer a glimpse into potential developments for the new year in the areas of patents, trademarks and litigation.

Burris will present “Effective Use of USPTO Pilot Programs for More Efficient Patent Prosecution” and will answer questions following the presentation. In addition to Burris, Brinks attorneys will present on “Hot Topics at the ITC” and the “2014 U.S. Supreme Court Year in Review: Notable Trademark and Copyright Decisions.”

At Brinks, Burris is chair of the Green Technology Practice Group and focuses her practice on patent applications in the mechanical, materials science and electrical arts. She also performs intellectual property due diligence for mergers and acquisitions and manages corporate IP portfolios and policies. Additionally, Burris prepares clearance/freedom-to-practice opinions and drafts and negotiates licensing agreements and joint development agreements.
